"I'm running for Student Council President because I care about the CP community and I believe that with your help, we can make a positive impact."
Liam's Top Priorities
Community Service
CP is stronger when we come together and give back to the community. In my opinion there should be more chances to give back to the community that helped us. Students from all grades must take their shot and help the good people of our community. Not just fundraisers and food drives, but also immersive experiences built into our classes. This could be things like Social Studies lessons where we work with indigenous communities. Or we could do Spanish class service projects where we use our language skills to support non-english speakers.
Student Empowerment
How many of you have had an amazing idea for the school, but could not find anyone to tell? That is exactly why I think a suggestion box will help you share your opinion. As your President, I would provide all students with a voice. We would review your suggestions as a Student Council, and would then work with our Teachers and Administrators on implementing more student ideas.
Balanced Workload
I believe that more of our homework assignments should be optional. This would allow for a much more balanced school and home life, and give students with extracurricular programs less to worry about. If we have too much mandatory homework, we don't have time for the balance that CP is founded on.
Campus Beautification
Have you ever looked around the middle school and realized how empty some parts of the exterior appear? Well I think that student murals would really brighten up the place! I would like to integrate more student art into the overall design of our campus - creating a warmer and more beautiful learning environment.
School Spirit & Fun
Do you know one of my favorite parts of school? Spirit weeks, which is why I think more them would be fun for all students. We could also do more activities like movie nights on the site of the former Lower School. Also - I heard that there is a band made up of our CP teachers - wouldn't it be fun if they put on a concert for us?
